Dominicanism that comes from the English "Bad Trip", that is, a bad experience with something
I like to consider myself a pretty postive person but to be happy every single day, now that is just a fairytale I probably saw in some rom-com movie when I was a kid that I would ugly cry to.
But no, I’ve had my share of bad days - or weeks, months, heck even years. Days where I lose control of my emotions, where I feel lost, scared, heavy, sad, angry. Days where my true latina, leo, youngest child, rebel attitude comes to the surface (yes, im thankful for a very patient husband).
So, In the past year, my biggest lessons has been to truly appreciate my bad days. Sounds cliché I know but as I’m getting closer to God and falling in love with His word, I have learned to turn those bad days into opportunities. Opportunities to grow, to learn and opportunities to lean more on HIM.
Ecclesiastes 7:14 On a good day, enjoy yourself; On a bad day, examine your conscience. God arranges for both kinds of days So that we won’t take anything for granted.
Today, I’m learning and growing.
I learned that in our bad days, God teaches us that in our weaknesses is where His power grows stronger.
I learned that in our bad days I need to pray more, breathe more, dance more.
I learned to embrace each day with a new heart, a new mind. To re-learn and let go.
I learned to count my blessings, not my failures because;
Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
So, embrace your baltris, they come disguised as life lessons.
